About Rochelle Brannan

Over the last twenty-years, I have worked in a variety of physical therapy settings ranging from community-based hospitals to private practices. About a decade ago, I recognized the need for improving out-patient physical therapy services for oncology patients. I began attending hospital tumor boards, attending physician cancer conferences and reviewing relevant medical journal articles. I have pursued specialization by becoming a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) and furthered my CLT knowledge by passing the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) exam. In 2017, I became certified as an oncology specialist with Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi), and also completed the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) advanced Certificate of Achievement in Peripheral Edema.

I currently hold the distinction of being the only APTA Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Oncology Physical Therapy in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. I combine a sincere passion for my patient population with my rigorous commitment to evidence-based practice in my quest toward optimal outcomes for oncology patients. I currently serve on the APTA Specialization Academy of Content Experts (SACE). In parallel with my clinical responsibilities, I am pursuing a Doctor of Science degree in Physical Therapy with an oncology focus from Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan.
